Yarn: 2 Strands of 2/24

Tension: T7

DIRECTIONS:

Childs Small (Med.)

1. With Navy, fast cast-on (weaving method) L-62 to R-62
2. Knit 22 rows  plain (stockinette stitch)
3. Select star pattern, Navy in Feeder A, White in Feeder B.
4. Knit 7 (14) rows in pattern.
5. Knit 42 (51) rows plain (stockinette stitch).
6. Hang to form cuff.
7. Knit 1 rows in Navy and select stripe pattern (Brother Pat. #: 535).
8. Knit 45 (50) rows in stripe pattern.

Adult Average (Large):

1. With Navy, fast-cast on (weaving method) L-75 (84) to R-72 (73).
2. Knit 30 rows  plain (stockinette stitch).
3. Select star pattern, Navy in Feeder A, White in Feeder B.
4. Knit 21 rows in pattern.
5. Knit 65 rows plain (stockinette stitch).
6. Hang to form cuff.
7. Knit 1 rows in Navy and select stripe pattern (Brother Pat. # 535).
8. Knit 61 rows in stripe pattern.

Finishing::

All hats are finished by transferring E/O stitch to adjacent needle, knitting 2 rows, and sewing off with double-eyed needle.  Pull tail to draw up tight.  Sew back seam.

Variation:  Santa Hat

Follow instructions for the other hats except in the stripe section decrease 1 stitch each side every 3 rows until there are 30 to 50 stitches (depending on the size you are making).
